Most of the main courses in Poland are dished up with mashed potatoes. These starchy vegetable were introduced to Europe by Spain in 1536. Once established in Poland potato became one of the most popular and easy to grow vegetables.

The annual diet of an average global citizen in the first decade of the twenty-first century included about 33Â kg (73 lb) of potato!!!!!!

The potato contains vitaminsÂ and minerals, as well as an assortment of phytochemicals. A medium-size 150Â g (5.3Â oz) potato with the skin provides 27Â mg of vitamin CÂ (45% of the Daily Value (DV)), 620Â mg of potassiumÂ Â (18% of DV), 0.2Â mg vitaminÂ Vitamin B₆ (10% of DV) and trace amounts of thiamin, riboflavin, folate, niacin, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, and zinc. The fiber content of a potato with skin (2Â g) is equivalent to that of many whole grain breads, pastasÂ and cereals.

1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Sour Cream (or Cream Cheese)
1/3 cup Milk
Dill
